Jeanne Le Bault, Market Editor at Elle magazine, is a mum of three girls: Nine, 5, Romy, almost 4, and Saskia, 20 months.
Your Proustian madeleine? Putting a duvet over the girls' pajamas (a little later in the evening) and enjoying hot chestnuts while looking at the Christmas shop windows.
Your favorite family (besides yours and ours)? Les Petits Malins.
Where do you usually have lunch as a family? Usually at home, which is much easier with three young children. We have impromptu picnics in our living room by throwing a tablecloth on the floor (a great idea suggested to me by my friend Inès de La Fressange).
What does an afternoon snack with the family look like at your house? Never the same thing. We try to vary the treats. We are lucky, the girls like everything. Often it's: homemade crepes with a glass of cold milk. But they would be just as happy with fresh bread and a piece of cheese.
A real challenge with the children? Nap time! The girls are much more “pleasant” when they are well rested (and so are we!). After that, we head to the Bois de Boulogne to tire all these little ones out.
Otherwise, the girls love helping me cook (so that dinner is ready on time)
A recipe that can be made in no time? the family chocolate cake that has been passed down from generation to generation.
When do they get into mischief? When there is no noise in the house. That is usually a very bad sign…
They make a big fuss when…? Dinner is not ready on time (usually by the time I set foot in the apartment)
A favorite product from À La Mère de Famille? Why just one? Marmoset, Panda, Koala, Hedgehog and Squirrels, when you love it, you don't count!
A gift for À La Mère de Famille for her 255th birthday? 255 tricycles to find you everywhere in Paris
As Annie Cordy used to say, Cho KaKakao, if I give you chocolate, what do you give me? The chorus on loop in your head:
Cho Ka Ka O
Cho chocolate
If you give me coconuts
I'll give you my pineapples
Cho ka ka o
Cho cho cho chocolate
Rikiki your little kiwis
The babas of my baobabs
Cho Ka Ka O
Cho chocolate
