A dream

To unite the oldest pastry shop in Paris (1730) with the oldest chocolate shop in Paris, À la Mère de Famille (1761), was a dream!
At the helm of a confectionery kingdom whose specialties adorn the map of France alongside the historic Houses it has acquired, the Dolfi family is proud to have looked after Maison Stohrer since 2017. This union brings together two histories and opens a new chapter with the opening of joint boutiques, guardians of confectionery expertise.

At the heart of these new settings, with their now-recognizable green facades, the traditions of our two Houses blend together, and our chocolates are joined by delicious pastries and travel cakes.

A historic union

Founded in 1730 by pastry chef Nicolas Stohrer and located at 51 rue Montorgueil ever since, Maison Stohrer is the very definition of a legend. Its sumptuous decor, designed by a pupil of Paul Baudry, a leading figure in Second Empire academic art, is a listed historical monument. Stohrer’s range is incomparable: it still offers the very best of classic French pastry, crafted in the adjoining workshop. Rum babas, invented by Nicolas Stohrer, puits d’amour, traditional religieuses, and exceptional bouchées à la reine.

At 257 years old, À la Mère de Famille is more vibrant than ever.

Founded in 1761 and revitalized by the Dolfi family, who acquired it in 2000, À la Mère de Famille continues to burst with new ideas and new locations. Driven by a love of flavor and an ongoing quest for new sensations, each boutique offers an incredible range of delicacies crafted in its Touraine workshop. For the Dolfi family, making everything in-house and controlling the entire process from start to finish guarantees the consistency, quality, and excellence of its products.
