An exceptional showcase celebrating motherhood by Louise Bourgoin
À la Mère de Famille invited actress and artist Louise Bourgoin to illustrate one of its holiday gift sets, destined to become an exceptional gift.
A graduate of the Beaux-Arts de Rennes, Louise Bourgoin recalls nurturing this passion for drawing from a very early age. The motif of women and nude bodies soon became a natural and compelling focus for her.
Captivated by the portrayal of maternal love, Louise Bourgoin draws nudes and loves depicting motherhood. A subject that touched the heartstrings of Paris’s oldest mother. The finesse and precision of the lines, the delicacy and harmony emanating from her moving female figures won her over.
“Becoming a mother myself was also deeply moving, and I try to capture the new sensations I experienced then through my drawings.”
It was therefore only natural for a connection to form with the artist, who also shares a very special bond with the Maison and chocolate: “I lived right next to the first boutique in the 9th arrondissement for over 10 years. I went there very often. I loved its chocolates, of course, but also its very special atmosphere.”
The black ink drawing was reproduced by a printer to faithfully capture Louise Bourgoin’s hand on each box and highlight its finest details: “I draw from my imagination, without preliminary sketches, directly onto the paper with a pen.” Finally, the placement of the silver hot foil stamping adds a delicate touch of light to this gift set. A highly refined technique of extraordinary delicacy, which required the artist to work extensively on the composition of her drawing.
While the eye already delights in the subtlety of this creation, full of curves and intertwining lines, there are also the delights awaiting connoisseurs inside this gift set. Finally, like a carefully guarded treasure, an assortment of Maison chocolate candies, ganaches, and pralines.
