Your Proustian madeleine?
My maternal grandmother's crêpes. She used to make them for us in the morning for breakfast, and I would wake up to that incredible smell. Copied, but never equaled. I am lucky enough to still have her, so I can still enjoy them from time to time.
Your favorite family (besides your own and ours)?
The Bennet family in Pride and Prejudice. I love the relationship between the five sisters and with their parents.
Where do you have lunch as a family?
Brunch at Pain Quotidien.
What does a family snack time look like at your house?
Madeleines, brioche, Nutella, Mariage Frères Bourbon tea.
A real blast with the kids?
Playing in the waves—big waves, though... always so much fun. Otherwise, we like going to the cinema as a family and debating the film afterwards.
A recipe you can whip up in no time?
Yogurt cake, made with the yogurt pot as a measuring cup!!
How do they roll you for a living?
When they endlessly negotiate their evening schedules with everyone from their stepfather to me, just to get away with it.
They make a big deal out of it when...?
We go out too much in the evening... or when we listen half-heartedly to their friends' stories.
A favorite À la Mère de Famille product?
ROUDOUDOUS... they make your lips tingle, but I love them so much.
A gift for À la Mère de Famille for its 255th birthday?
A Maison Ullens cashmere travel pouch filled with À la Mère de Famille sweets to snack on during long flights.
As Annie Cordy used to say, Cho KaKakao, if you give me chocolate, what will you give me?
Milk to make hot chocolate, in winter on my sofa.
